Agreed.

Am I the only one a little disappointed that they're not actually robbing a casino?

Zahn mentioned on Facebook that he'll be writing a short story that's pre-Scoundrels for Star Wars Insider. It'll be named Heist. It will include characters Bink and Tavia (both in Scoundrels I think).

He'll also be writing another short story, novella length, that's also pre-Scoundrels, and will be released as an eBook. No name yet on that one.

I have been wondering a couple of things about this book, maybe someone will know the answer or at least speculate on it.

I always thought that Han leaving Lando high and dry during The Han Solo Trilogy was supposed to be the last time the two saw each other before Empire. This novel seems to make it clear that this is not the case.

My question is this, is there reference in any other media (comics perhaps) to a meeting of the two post the Han Solo Trilogy?

Do you think Zahn would have to leave Lando and Han's relationship in a similar state to explain the tension shown between them in Empire?

It was. This is BS. I don't know who's worse, Zahn or Lucas.

I definitely hope that he will at least acknowledge this in the story. To be fair this is my first gripe with Zahn.

I am interesting to see how this novel turns out, I'd imagine this will be his first novel with no Mara or Thrawn storylines.

Any word on Hand of Judgement being here? I would like to see them again at some point.

This story, I believe, takes place before they desert.

I wouldn't count on it. Zahn tends to only consider the movies and his own novels. I guess because of Heir, he considers himself privileged. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if Thrawn and/or Mara have some sort of cameo at least.

Wouldn't be a Zahn novel without those cameos, he seems to only truly like working with the two of them and Karrde. I dunno, he bugs me sometimes but he's still a good writer.

I'm kind of 50/50 on him. The Thrawn Trilogy is some of my favorite books ever but Allegiance and Choices are very low on my list. He should have stopped with Outbound Flight at the least.

I know that Han and Landon are on the cover BUT who ever said they would SEE each other in this book?! They can both be involved without ever direct contact, so let's wait for the book before we jump to conclusions people!!! Also Zahn doesn't glorify other non Zahn star wars stories but he certainly does mention/work with them.

"Han Solo and his Wookiee partner, Chewbacca, set out to assemble a cast of rogues, knaves, and cons with the right combination of wits, skills, and derring-do to pull off an operation of this complexity and scale — the best scoundrels the galaxy has to offer. And then the game is on: a rip-roaring, intergalactic, Ocean’s Eleven-style heist adventure starring Han Solo, Chewie, and Lando Calrissian"

Sounds like they'll be working together to me.

From the other side of the galaxy perhaps, and many Zahn books go on without the "stars" seeing each other. That's still not proof to me

Well let me know how it is. They can miss me with this one. Zahn's tired.

Obviously no-one knows how exactly the characters will interact yet, Though I'd imagine it's a safe bet Han and Lando have at least minor interaction.

That said, I wasn't slating the story, I have high hopes for it. I was just voicing some things I've been wondering since it's announcement.

I'm really enjoying Allegiance at the moment, and thought Choices of One was a good read. Maybe you're bored of Zahn's characters and not his writing? Perhaps Scoundrels will be refreshing?
