My wife and I were cleaning the house last weekend, and came across some cool old coins.
For those who don't know: whereas in the US only deceased presidents or other such political figures appear on currency, in Canada the current monarch is on all coins (and monarchs or prime ministers are on bills). Now, about 10 years ago, the design on our coins was changed to reflect a more up-to-date depiction of the Queen (for a long time she appeared as she was when she became Queen in the 50s). So it was really cool to see older coins with the younger Queen on them. But was cooler still was that we found a 50-cent coin that was from 1944, with King Goerge VI on it. I had never seen one before. It was pretty cool.
We also found some old US 25-cent, 50-cent, and 1-dollar coins from the 60s and 70s, one of which looked like it had JFK on it (from 1964; probably a memorial coin of some sort). _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
The place: Babylon 5.
