That's pretty much what I thought too. I didn't really have much of a problem with Amon. Exposition is meh, and yeah we saw it coming, but that's the level of storytelling going on, I didn't have expectations of otherwise. I would have liked the second half to be more dramatic, but that's the only real issue there. It just felt rushed.

I think the thing was that Tarlok just sincerely wanted to destroy the Equalists and he viewed Korra as a threat to doing that because she didn't want to do it his way. He acted like such a supreme ***hole that I think we figured he must have had some other evil plan and that was just a cover. Nope.

When he lost his bending and found out who Amon was, the guy that he really wanted to destroy all along, he lost all his thunder and also realized that he needed Korra to do that. Also it was just cheap set up so that they could explain Amon's backstory.

PS. when the Equalist commander confronted Amon, I genuinely felt bad. That goes to show that there is still some good emotional complexity there.

Agreed. I hadn't given much thought to him, other than that he was a guy that Korra and the gang could beat up on. But I don't know if was the voice-acting or what - that was a powerful moment.

*closes eyes* I still haven't seen the finale! Hoping to watch it tonight. I was waiting for my sister, and then she went and watched it without me! Hmph.

Edit: You people! I thought it was an incredible finale! It worked for me on so many levels. I had absolutely no problems with it, and I thought Amon's reveal was excellent. I actually get frustrated when they string us along with villains forever. So maybe I like the quicker resolution. But I thought it was a beautiful finale. I almost cried. Ah, well.

I'm glad you liked it, Mara. I'm going to re-watch the entire season when it comes on DVD and who knows I may feel differently about it when I see the episodes back-to-back.

I'm with Mara. I loved the finale and thought it was a great resolution. I only had two minor gripes with it.

My only complaint is Zuko's grandson. I don't like them using the same voice, it's weird. I know it's to make the fans happy, but I would have much preferred the simple revelation that they were related. Confused

I was too happy to hear Dante Basco's voice to really care.

I didn't hate it, but it was a little odd.

I bought the last season of Avatar (I now have all three) and just found out that one of the current Dalai Lama's names is Tenzin Gyatso. Cool
