Still, the dynamic of the story was good enough that I would have gone and seen a sequel, as long as they kept the same cast. It stayed pretty darn loyal to the feel of the comics. The problem is that, between inexpensive movies at Wal-Mart and Costco, and the fact that the rental companies have mostly gone out of business (at least in Canada they have; we lost Blockbuster last year, and a few months ago lost Rogers Video, which both dominated the market), we're encouraged to buy movies. I was walking through Wal-Mart the other day and ended up buying the three first X-Men movies on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. Even though I already own the DVDs. Why? Because they were 10$ each and I like having digital copies. My wife was shopping this week and picked up Avengers. Mad Wook Knight Joined: 14 Apr 2011 Posts: 350 We're on a superhero kick around here. My son recently discovered Superman, so I picked up the dvd 4-pack of the first 4 and Superman Returns on bluray, all fairly cheap, when I picked up The Avengers. Then the next day we got Spiderman 2 & 3 at Target for 5 bucks each. I'm not the biggest Superman and Spiderman fan but the boy loves em right now.

The first one was actually a good film, RotF was horrible, and DotM I thought was so-so. It was entertaining to see in theaters, no doubt, but in the same way a Disney World attraction is entertaining. You're not in it for the story or character development, you're in it for the ride. But even saying that, I still consider Transformers a standalone film. _________________
