For those who have had a SW marathon, do you find that you gain an appreciation of the films that wasn't there previously, because you watched them altogether (which, depending on how you interpret Lucas, may or may not be how it was intended)? Or is it merely for the fan credit? _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. That doesn't mean I hate the EU, or even love all of it. These are not prerequisites. Being a man is not a prerequisite. Being a geek is not a prerequisite. The only prerequisite is that I love something about Star Wars. I am a Star Wars fan.

Well, maybe 'mastered' is too strong a word, but I can do them now! It started when I noticed another symbol on my 4 key, one I couldn't do by usual means. The Euro symbol. I was perplexed, but then I noticed my other ALT key had another abbreviation after it. That of GR. ALT GR. I thought it would be exactly the same as my other ALT key, yet when I pressed four, I got ... €! €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€! (read as 'Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!'). So, on a hunch, I pressed my vowels, and got áéíóú! I can do them, now! I can say Padme's name properly! Hello Padmé! Okay, this is a rather small good thing, but it's been bugging me for years. It was quite annoying, having to find the right accent, then copy and paste it onto my writing, and then have to fiddle with it to get it to fit the other text. I'm convinced that's why Word no longer accepts copy and pasted texts from other sources. But now I can do them! Yay! _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. However I try to grab an emotion and follow it threw the movies such as "naivety" and follow it from young to old anakin right threw Luke, or "strong will" trace it down padme to Leia. Etc etc. This method really encourages finishing them all the way threw without getting 8 hours in and saying "yea yea death star 2, ewoks I get it" and stoping at ANH or ESB _________________ Mara: "Not many people Dare to hug me" Lando: "That leaves more of you for me then!" I was still in High School, I had the night off (with my parents out of town), and The Matrix: Revolutions had just come onto DVD. I owned #1 already, so I rented the other two, bought a big bag of Smart Food^TM White Cheddar Popcorn and a 2L bottle of Pepsi Blue (anyone else remember that? Loved it.) Good times. When I was in First Year, I also did a marathon of the show Dead Like Me. 29 episodes. 24 hours total. Stopped only to eat and pee. Good times. re: Accents: Sorry, Life, but in Canada was learn the accents on keyboards early. It's important for learning French. I try all the combinations I know like ALT 136 and 137 with the numbers on top but each time I do it, nothing happens. I guess it's the worst part of having a laptop... Usually if you have Fn, then there's a numpad in another colour integrated into your keys (like on top of U, I, O, J, K, L, M, comma, and period, but maybe shifted; I don't have my laptop here). So if you have an Fn key (which might be coloured blue), and have those numbers appear in blue in superscript on your keys, then you might be able to push Alt-Fn-(letters). Try it out. You see, I only remembered this morning that I was supposed to gather some info on the "apartheid" years in South Africa. Just before school I turned on my laptop faster than lightning and typed "apartheid years" into the Google search tab. When I finally got something on Wikipedia I realized I had no paper to write on some of the main facts. "Come on! We're gonna be late!" I heard my dad yell down the hall and I frantically scanned my messy desk for something, if anything! My eyes rested on my pad of Post-It notes and I ripped out a bunch of them to scribble down a few things. That notes saved my butt in History and I had a few leftovers to doodle on when I got bored!
