The little things matter to me. Call me sentimental, but they matter. It has been stated that the films will have the Fox opening cinematic replaced with the Disney castle. That just hurts my little heart. |
I hadn't even thought of that. How true.
Honestly, this doesn't upset me, not like it would have months ago (before my "Fandom Apocalypse").
Mortis killed continuity for me, not these yet-to-be-released movies. After reading Apocalypse, my fandom went on life support, knowing that Mortis was here to stay and that Lucas (much less, Disney) cares nothing for continuity... even in his own films. After that I re-evaluated what exactly I was a fan of in the Star Wars universe and I came up with one thing: the original trilogy. No prequels, no TCW, even no EU. The original trilogy is what I fell in love with and that is where my fandom resides. No one can take those movies away from me (I have the original versions on VHS), so you know what Lucas and Disney? Let 'er rip. Do whatever you want. I don't care, because my "personal canon" now merely consists of three fine films. I've tossed everything else. _________________
