Indeed. I found out my cousin was 5 months pregnant via Facebook.

My family used to be very close, but slowly drifted apart over the years. Mostly because of shifting generations though. 4 years ago I was in a serious relationship with the woman I would subsequently marry, my sister was married and pregnant, and so my mom decided that Christmas would be low key, immediate family having one last quiet Christmas before my niece and nephew came (recognizing that for subsequent holidays my parents would have grandchildren and thus be the center of a new family tradition, as grandparents often are). My aunts responded with accusations of ruining family Christmas. Which was funny, because they never invited us, they just expected we would go because "it's always at my house!" It went downhill from there, with me not inviting my cousins-who-were-still-kids to my wedding (and thus being further accused of family-splitting).

So I make little effort on that anymore. I moved fairly far away, so at the holidays I make a point to see my parents, my sister's family, and my in-laws. Aunts and uncles are fun to see, but only if the timing is convenient.

The other night I had this dream:
(from xkcd.com)

I hate it. I have it about once a year now.

^I hate that dream. Evil or Very Mad

At least I don't dream about Freddy Kreuger anymore.

A friend tried to convince me last night that Disney could save Star Wars. I responded in a mature and adult manner by shrieking at her that my childhood is dead.

Also, another gripe, I have to teach today dressed as Laura Ingalls.

Vocalist of a band I like (Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence) was killed in a motorcycle accident. Not the best news to come home to after an already crap day at work.

The final exams are coming up and I'm like 24/7 behind the books. So I'm gonna be pretty scarce around the internet the next few weeks.
For those of you who have to write a test or exams with me, here's something just for you:

I found out that the Dragon Woman (aka: my former boss) is returning to terrorize us next week.

I found out today that I missed the ULTIMATE 80's concert! The worst part is that it was last night in the very same town I was in! There were people like ABC and Belinda Carlisle and a lot of others I might not ever have the chance of seeing live on stage! Sad

^ Honestly, I don't think I will. Deadlines can stress me, but they don't creep far enough into my psyche for me to dream about them.

I did have a nightmare about a ghost for the first time in, like, ten years. In my dream, I walked into a bathroom and saw a rag wiping the mirror in circular motions... with no one holding it. I ran screaming from the room and woke up afraid to move. It was so weird, because I haven't been that scared of anything, let alone a ghost, since I was little. I had forgotten how scary ghosts used to be.
