I've lost interest in the game myself. It was fun for the storyline but I gave it up pretty quick after that. Its fun but not forever.

Are you playing the game?

No, I'm not. I was intrigued by the new era and looked forward to reading the books, but they've been pretty underwhelming (Deceived was good though). And, I don't know, the whole era seems so unimaginative to me. I think the thought process was "Let's throw together all the things that people love into one giant era!!!1!!". It makes for a cool game, but I haven't been that impressed with the era.

I'm guessing Darth Karrid and Gnost-Dural are on the back cover. Del Rey said that Theron Shan is on the front and credit goes to LucasAarts as the cover artist.

Something about seeing a descendant of Revan just makes me happy. Revan just always seemed so...mysterious. Like he would never get married and have children and such. But here's his great-great-however-many grandson! Just cool. Cool

Agreed. Also watching Satele in the TOR trailers is really great. Is it true Satele and Malgus will be in this novel? If so, I want it now! Wink

According to Drew Karpyshyn, Annihilation's events take place in "mostly [Nar] Shadda, Ziost, Coruscant and several space stations and ships."

I knew it! Drew Karpyshyn says...

Quote:
On the back cover of the Annihilation novel, you see Darth Karrid, the main villain in the story. She’s the one with the red lightsaber. You also see Jedi Master Gnost-Dural, the narrator for the history holocron updates for SWTOR.

At least it will be easy to give Gnost a voice when I read the book now. Wink

I hope the book has the correct spelling.

For those who have read the book, what did you think about Theron and Teff'ith's friendship?

I liked the fact that they could have a friendship that wasn't sexual. It was kind of refreshing to see an author toss two characters together without forcing them into a relationship.

The blurb makes mention of a Sith Lord's attempt to take over the throne. I'm assuming, but don't know, that that's a reference to an event in the TOR game (specifically, something in the Sith character's story). It got me wondering, are any of the main game characters - the ones you play as - in this book?

Not that I know of. All the people mentioned seemed to be existing characters.

Though I haven't had a chance to read (or purchase) the book yet, this IS refreshing to hear.

Too often its "guy character + girl character = instant romance". Sadly real life doesn't work this way most of the time. And even if one person's interested, the other may well not be. Its good to see that they can occasionally avoid this.
