Interesting, I'm always into anything Vader, and slowly getting into comics so I might try this out!

Well, it's kinda interesting because it's only a two issue series. Idk if it's going to lead into something else, but I liked the first issue and am curious to see how it's wrapped up in the second one.

I enjoyed the story on this, the art was severely lacking.

Really? I didn't think the art was too bad.

There's a specific panel that highlights what I'm talking about where Vader looks like he's got a crick in his neck. It isn't awful art, but the characters look a bit off in some of them. Kind of like the artist started, realized something was off, but finished anyway.

I'm not sure if I'll buy this, but I did like the preview.

This is my initial thoughts I posted at the DH forum:

I hate to be a downer, but I thought Vader was written way out of character. Pretty much anything Vader, Sidious, or the clones said just didn't seem right. I was taken out of the story immediately when he force-slammed the trooper into the rocks at the beginning. I don't recall Vader ever being so overly emotional like this. Not in front of his inferiors. And don't recall him ever overtly abusing Clone Troopers. Also wasn't a huge fan of the art but can handle interpretation in the art easier than I can with character personalities. And the caption boxes with the report seemed like a direct ripoff of The Ghost Prison. It seems these Vader stories have been hit and miss. Ghost Prison was great while The Lost Command was weak. The first and third Purge comics were good while the Sha Koon and new one weren't that great. Just my opinion.

What species is the Jedi in this story?

As for the characterisation. I agree to a degree that it is a little off, I feel like they chose to show Vader throw the trooper against the wall because it would be easier than showing a force choke (as the helmet is masking his expressions).

But why would he take any action against the trooper at all? He would just give the order and move on, I would think. Even if he was frustrated, I don't see him taking it out on a clone. Maybe a naval officer.

My first guess was Codru-Ji but once I looked into it, he's a Myneyrsh.

Or did you mean the lizard guy? If so, not sure.

You sure? The head didn't seem consistent and wookieepedia doesn't show a Barabel for that issue.

I really liked the issue, but the character designs of those two aliens didn't feel very Star Wars-y to me.

I didn't think so either, but the internet is confirming Barabel and for now that's good enough for me.

I held off on this thread untill I read the comic but you guys nailed it. Vader was written way out of character! It just felt weird but the story holds up pretty good, ill pick the next one up.
