Just an FYI: Hastings has a variant cover if you're a collector.

There is supposedly two other variant covers. According to Randy Stradely, one is at "Game Stop". I'm not sure if this version is out yet, and whether he meant Gamestop, the video game retail outlet or not. I checked at some local Gamestops and they didn't have it and didn't know anything about it.

The Hastings version is available online though: http://www.gohastings.com/product/BOOK/Exclusive-Hastings-Star-Wars-No1/sku/290217379.uts

There will be a third variant using the uncolored artwork for the cover, but that one won't be released until Star Wars #4 comes out.

Star Wars #1 has already sold out, and Randy indicated that the 2nd printing will feature the regular cover but without any text on it.

I love this comic!! The art is amazing, the details on the star ships is the best I've seen since......... Honestly as far back as Dark Empire. Yes the characters look a little bit off from their on screen counterparts but they all work, Murray said it right Leia does look a little padme ish but I'm cool with that. Great reintroductions. Han was Whity, Luke was alittle confused, and Leia was a bad &$*! They nailed the old school feel. And all the drama about Leia flying an x-wing is over nothing, they explain why she's out there they didn't make it her "new role" or anything like that. A+ by me

FYI: anyone who was interested in the GameSpot variant, Randy Stradley commented a little further since no one has been able to find it.

More news on the GameStop cover variant. It will only be available through GameStop's PowerUp Rewards program. It'll be limited to 3,000 copies and will cost 9,920 points.

I'm not a member of their PowerUp program, but from what I hear, you'd have to spend A LOT of money to earn the 9,920 points.

Interesting statistic (if I'm reading it right), Star Wars #1 sold 57,868,317 issues last month...or 39,663...I'm still not real sure how that's listed (1 unit is supposedly 1,459 issues).

How is one unit 1,459 issues? I always took those stats to meaning actual sales. 39,663 units being 39,663 issues sold.

Which is far more believable than 57 million. That means that like 1 in every 6 people in North America bought one. That sounds unreasonably high.

That same logic means that over 247 million copies of Superior Spider-Man were sold. And that's just wrong.

Good issue, Wood does have some solid SW potential

My only issue with #2 was Boba Fett. Sometimes it just feels like he is the only bounty hunter in the galaxy.

@Taral: yeah, you're right. I was thinking about it afterwards and realized how ridiculous 50 something million would be Very Happy

Sill almost 40,000 issues sold in the first month is pretty good for a Star Wars title.

If I had this 4th printing variant signed by Wood I might cry. This is my new goal for autographs.
