I lost my wedding band on Saturday
My wife and I went to the sugar shack (the nearby farm where they tap maple trees and produce maple syrup), and I'm pretty sure when I washed my hands and then tried them quickly by rubbing them under my armpits, it slid off and into the dirt.
When we were shopping later that day, I noticed it wasn't on my hand. I had hoped that I had just forgotten to put it on, but then we couldn't find it at the house.
Gave my phone number to the store and the sugar shack, but I'm not confident I'll see it again. I was pretty upset for all of Saturday, but my wife too it really graciously (cause the ring is just a thing, and those can be replaced, so it's not worth hurt feelings) And then I was talking to people and found out that some of the smartest guys I know lost their wedding bands too over the course of their lives (my father-in-law dropped his down the bathtub drain, and spent 15 years without one).
So the conclusion is that I should be a bit better with my things, but that sometimes **** happens and there's no reason to get too upset about it. _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
