This weekend was Ottawa Comic-Con!
I bought about $120.00 worth of material, mostly books, including:
-Avengers Annual #10 (my fave book, from 1981, and I got Chris Claremot to sign it!)
-The six issues of X-Termination, plus the prelude, in a set
-Astonishing X-Men Annual and #51 (the Northstar/Kyle marriage issue)
-Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 (collecting many of the 1960s Guardians of the Galaxy books).
-the second volume of The Guild comics
-A pair of cufflinks made of twenty-sided dice
I saw great Q&As by Kevin Sorbo, Michael Shanks, LeVar Burton, Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Nicholas Brendan, and Billy Dee Williams (the latter was actually quite bad; a lot of one-line answers, and his MC did way too much talking).
I attended a panel about 50 years of Doctor Who, and a panel on how to build life-size, functional Daleks.
I saw a lot of people in costumes.
I saw a lot of scantily clad cosplaying women </pig>
It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
The place: Babylon 5.
