So I finally got a smartphone (a Razr M). Now I don't want to get it busted so I've been thinking of getting a case for it (currently I have one of those soft silicone things, which is better than nothing, although I'm not sure how good it would be in providing actual protection).

For those of you who have smartphones are there any case brands you would recommend (or not recommend)? Being an archaeologist having a case that covers the headphone and mini-usb ports would be ideal since it will probably be exposed to some level of dust.

I'm not sure about any cases that cover the headphone jack and usb and/or hdmi ports, since most are intended to allow you to use those with the case on.

I've got the Droid Razr Maxx HD and I just use the case that verizon sold for it as a package. When it's put in the belt clip it also comes with, either the headphone jack or the usb and hdmi ports are covered, but not both.

To clarify what I meant: something with some sort of flap that you can open in order to access those ports when you need them but have closed to keep dust out when not in use.

http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vertical-Genuine-Magnetic-Removable/dp/B009ED3OBG%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAIDCSJ2XWJHVLJHUA%26tag%3Dphonecases09-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB009ED3OBG

This is like my belt clip, in that the phone isn't supposed to be used when it's in it, but it looks like it may cover the jack and ports. The reviews suggest that the case isn't what it says it is though... I dunno. I'm sure Verizon has the same thing that I have, which is a pretty decent rigid case for the phone, and a second piece belt clip that covers the face and perhaps the jack and port when you slide the phone into it.

You may be able to find the type of case that you are looking for though, if that's preferable.

Honestly, much better than when it was still in there. I had a constant pain in my appendix area, I had a bit of a fever, I had no appetite, and I was really tired. Now most of my symptoms are gone except for a slight pain at my stomach where one of the incisions was. Now I have an excuse to rest, watch movies, and read books. Smile

The hospital staff were all really nice and helpful, but I had various people press down on my appendix four times pre-surgery. It was horrible.

Random, but I succeeded in getting a coworker to do what I wanted by threatening to sing Eye of the Tiger over the walkie talkies we carry.

I don't see how that could be a threat. That would be glorious.

Life....I'm gonna have to love you forever because of your use of that clip.

The wallpaper on my phone is the concept art pic of Obi Wan for the upcoming book. A buddy at work asked what time it is, so I showed him my phone as an answer. To which he says "nice picture of Jesus", my instant response without any thought was "Naw that's Obi Wan, he's waaaay more powerful"
