Star Trek was fantastic. The ending was just a tad anti-climactic, but that's alright. The performances were wonderful and the story was great. Unlike the last film, it actually had a feel of classic Trek to it. The 3D was also fairly well-done, definitely not at the same level as Avatar and Prometheus, though.

Good flick, even more confirmation that Episode VII is in good hands. Wink

Going to see it Tuesday, in 3D (glad you thought it was good!).

I thought Star Trek Into Darkness was great. I liked it better than the previous film.

But overall, I like it all: the acting, the musical score, the story, the action, the directing, it was all good in my opinion.

I absolutely loved Star Trek Into Darkness!

As someone who's seen every movie, pretty much every episode, and was huge into the broader Star Trek lore for a while, I spent the entire movie grinning from ear to ear.

It's the little things. Like having models of the ring-nacelled Enterprise, the NX-01 Enterprise, and the NX-prototype (as well as the Kelvin and the new Enterprise) on Pike's desk, or references to the Gorn. Some might call it pandering, I call it attention to detail.

I loved that part of the movie. I was genuinely surprised by it, and took me off guard, forced me to re-think about the story on the fly. Movies have trouble doing that, I find.

Same with the similar twist in Star Trek Into Darkness.
