I think I'm going to re-read Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor!

Well, yeah lol. Unless She Who Will Not Be Named wrote it. You know who I mean Wink

You should give Invincible another try. After decidedly not loving -- coughhatingitcough -- that novel since it's release, I reread it recently. To my utter and total amazement I found myself really liking it.

Feels like I'm powering through these books Smile

Rule of Two was amazing, but going to have a teeny tiny break before Dynasty of Evil and go even further back in time to read Deceived.

I finished re-reading Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor. Now I'm going to re-read Traitor for the umpteenth time.

I have no idea what the reveal is that gave a blank face. I'm not sure if this is because I've read the book already. The only surprise that I recall from my first reading of the novel was due to having read Shatterpoint, so I don't think that it can be that. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what the reveal is?!

I hadn't read Shatterpoint. Haven't read any PT era books.

I have some PT era books on the shelf to read though, Darth Plagieis, Labyrinth of Evil, RotS, and Dark Lord.

I know, that's why I am not sure what reveal in LSatSoM you are talking about, the only ones I can think of required prior knowledge of Shatterpoint.

Just finished the amazing Deceived and now it's time to finish the Bane trilogy.

Loved Path of Destruction and Rule of Two, hoping Dynasty of Evil is just as good.

It was the Shatterpoint stuff. I wasn't lost or anything. The book is solid.

I find it interesting that in Traitor, the big statement which everyone took away from the novel was the claim that there is no dark side, but in LSatSoM it's the precise opposite that is expressed from Luke's point of view, that there is no light side. Interesting that Luke Skywalker thinking this and accepting it as a fact is something that's completely ignored, vis-a-vis a character stating the opposite in dialogue sparking a firestorm -- ignoring that character's frequent claims of insincerity and dialogue contradictory to that point in the same novel. Not to mention the central thesis of the novel is that the character's sincerity -- or lack therof -- is irrelevant. After all, is it what the teacher teaches, or what the student learns?

Just finished up Agent of Chaos II, great book I've really been missing Han since the begining of the NJO, so it was nice to have two heavy Han books in a row. Droma is an awesome character, a great yin to Hans yang and was really just what Han needed to shake off his enormous loss. 5 down 14 more to go the NJO rolls on....Balance Point here we go!

I think the first five books of the New Jedi Order are relatively speaking a high point in the series; IMO, it's the biggest cluster of books I'd recommend in the series. Vector Prime is a bit too heavy on exposition, but the rollercoaster ride of Onslaught, Ruin, Hero's Trial, and Jedi Eclipse is swell. Afterward, it becomes a bit more hit or miss.

I actually found Edge of Victory through Dark Journey to be a strong section. I actually enjoyed Edge of Victory through Traitor so I guess for me the center of the series really does it.
