I wanted to say Qui-Gon...but then...C-3PO kind of ties it all together.

Anakin built him...then he was sold to Luke via Uncle Owen...then he kinda migrates his way to Leia.

3PO is that tangible connection between Anakin and his children -- and for that reason, I'm picking C-3PO.

C3PO. Could you imagine Star Wars without some of the best comic relief in movies ever? Qui-Gon was a throwaway character in comparison.

Haha, you bring up a good point, but from a purely movie perspective (And I'm a bit of an OT purist myself...) Qui-Gon isn't even around when Obi-Wan matures into this total badass, hardened by the clone wars and wizened by everything that has happened in the universe around him. I dunno, I just think that you replace Qui-Gon with Yoda, or Ki-Adi-Mundi, or Mace Windu, or any other one of the Jedi Knights in the PT, you would end up with the same Obi-Wan.

I dunno.

Now adding my own opinion to the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan conversation: even though Master Yoda or Mace Windu would have been as good a mentor as Qui-Gon has been, I think that Qui-Gon's death had a huge influence on Obi-Wan and the way he trained Anakin. Qui-Gon's death was the first time (from my perspective) where he experienced deep personal loss and that might have changed how he thought and viewed things and choices for example: "Qui-Gon would have done this/would have wanted me to make this choice"

But then again, this is only my opinion. I'm not a psychiatrist in a galaxy far, far away! Wink

@Baloo/Bianca: You have to "sign up" for this game. If you want to join, I'll add you... as long as you don't disappear after a week.

Yes. It's very rude when that happens and it slows down the game. By slowing down I'm talking days, weeks even.
Please bare that in mind before joining us.
One more thing Baloo&Bianca. If you decide to join us, don't rely on the Topic reply mail too much, because it becomes moody and evil when it has to work for this thread.

Oh, okay. Smile

And, I don't rely on emails...I get way too much email to add on to it for a message board. Wink

Is it still too late to cast my vote for C-3PO?

^I don't think it was too late to begin with Caedus Smile

As far as I know you have not dropped out. Plus Reep hasn't declared the victor yet.

This might be a good time to do another player checklist. Bad TV style.

And now The Best Thing About Star Wars Ever continues (after the break).
Jaina is back!
Vile
will be missed!

The fate of Mara/Padmé is uncertain.
Will they ever return? Has Time become their master?
Are they even alive?

And what of Baloo and Bianca?
Are they in? Will they stay? Is this just another A bomb for the thread send by Mr. Evil?
Stay tuned as The Best Thing About Star Wars Ever continues (after the break).

@Because we're playing with ten players now, technically your vote doesn't count. Wink

Current players are:

Reepicheep
Caedus_16
1337Jedi
Hogy
Jedi Joe
Darth Skuldren
Shah' lala
Life Is The Path
JainaSolo
Bianca Christine

-----------------------

Qui-Gon Jinn wins 6-3

Round 3, Match 3:

A-Wing

or

Han Solo

The A-Wing is my favourite Star wars ship by far... but I'm going to have to go with Solo. Forgive me, A-Wing.

A-Wing is one of my favorites fighters. I love A-Wing.
But unlike Han, it doesn't shoot first.

Solo for me!

I am deeply offended that I've been kicked out of the game. I hereby shun you all.

I would've voted for Threepio and now for Han, if if still matters. Razz
