Charlie Sheen?! In the whole wide world of actors you come up with Charlie Sheen? Wink

Hey, he's full of WIN. Laughing

And he did do a good job as the President in Machete Kills.

I agree! Fans want to see the Big 3 together. JJ Abrams should be ready for some serious criticism if Charlie Sheen plays Han.

If Charlie Sheen is cast as Han Solo, I am boycotting Episode VII.

Okay, I thought the Sheen thing was a joke, but is this actually being talked of, in professional circles?

There has been a change in screenwriters - Arndt out, Abrams and Kasdan in.

Well this is interesting. Let's see how this goes.

I find the lack of comment by Arndt worrying. This whole thing is a bit bad considering he was GL's choice before even the sale, and his resume was used to alleviate public fear about this production. And now he has been replaced without comment, with an executive moneyperson commenting instead?

It smells of complete and unwanted rewrite, which in my experience is correlated with an increasingly messy movie, as more creative visions and perspectives start competing.

Let's hope I'm just paranoid. At least they have Kasdan, that is always something. J. J. I am growing increasingly skeptical of.

*Phew* that's a relief! You had me doubting for a second.

I have no problems with JJ stepping in as writer, though I do think he's not a particularly strong writer (but still quite good).

At least they didn't bring the Kurtzman/Orci duo... I am a bit worried about this though. Arndt is a fantastic writer and it's a bit troublesome that he backed out/was pushed out. Confused

Well, with Empire and ROTJ, the scripts went through multiple drafts, each new writer adding a new element to the draft, they were a bit collaborative. The questions here is whether Arndt's draft is being tossed out, or merely changed.

It's significant that they're still working on the script, though.

Yeah, I find it very unlikely that they will make that "expected 2015 release," especially if they end up rewriting the script.
