As revealed at the Wonder Festival 2014 in Tokyo, Medicom's MAFEX toy line will be rolling out Star Wars figures "soon". The figures are 6-inch scale, so they'll be competing with Hasbro's 6-inch Black Series line.

Tomopop has the info and pictures of the reveal at Wonder Festival.

You can also check out pictures of the other figures in the MAFEX line on Toyark.

The MAFEX line is pretty new. So far they've only made a Spiderman and Batman figure. Both are around $40, but are very detailed, articulated, and come with a good assortment of accessories. I really like the look of the Spiderman. The articulation looks impressive. As someone who is collecting the Black Series 6-inch line, I'm looking forward to what MAFEX can do. Some of Hasbro's figures are a little disappointing. As a collector of ThreeA toys, I'm a little spoiled when it comes to quality, detail and articulation.

I keep hearing rumors. If they do make it, I'll probably get it. I love Hutts. Hopefully they give him some articulation, though. I don't really need another statue.

Edit: Just saw the Toy Fair news. Awesome! They also have pics of the Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike, Chewie and more.

So I bought a MAFEX Stormtrooper.

I opened the box...

...and I was overcome with joy. This thing is so incredibly awesome. The sheer amount of articulation...it's worth the money. You might not be able to troop build, but it's awesome. Here some sneak peaks.

That's pretty cool, actually.

You know, I messed up. There was so much Japanese writing on the box, I didn't realize it's the Revoltech Stormtrooper, not the MAFEX. MAFEX one isn't out till May.

I got the Revoltech Stormtrooper off eBay because it was a bit cheaper than online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store and Dorksidetoys. He's about $56 including shipping. Pricey, but cool.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up! That would explain why I couldn't find it.

40-50 may be a bit too much for one toy, sadly, but I'll keep my eye out.
