Aaron Allston passed away this Thursday, at VisionCon. http://clubjade.net/?p=57823

He was one of my, if not the, favourite authors in EU.

I saw this on Timothy Zahn's Facebook page. Quite a shock.

I always liked Aaron's Star Wars books. I haven't read too many of his non-Star Wars works, but some of them were really good. I only met Aaron a couple times at Star Wars Celebration VI, but he seemed like a very nice person. He'll be missed.

Strange how all these EU authors are falling so close after the sale to Disney and the assumed death of the EU. One more and it'll get downright creepy.

He was one of my favourite Star Wars Expanded Universe authors. Star Wars will never be quite as funny. Sad

Damn, I'm actually re-reading Fate of the Jedi and just finished one of his books last night. I think once I'm done with that series I'll re-read his X-wing books.

Great author, I had the chance to pick his brain for about a half an hour at Celebration VI. Found him on a bench sitting alone just taking it all in, I sat down and started rambling on, he really seemed to love the SW life. He had a great explanation for why non force sensitive beings can be even better pilots then those with it.

I am shocked and grieved. I always counted him as one of my favorite EU authors.

Yub yub, Commander. Sad

It was due to massive heart failure: https://www.facebook.com/seanpatfan/posts/10152852278956494?stream_ref=10

I was shocked to hear of his death at the weekend. He wrote some of my favourite SW novels and made a great contribution to the SW universe. He really loved the characters he wrote about, and engaged generously with the fans.

He will be missed.
