I don't think we have an existing thread for the Academy Awards, but we do now!

I was pretty happy with the results this year, mainly because Gravity picked up seven awards. Too bad it didn't get Best Picture though.

And sure, I would have liked if The Book Thief had won best score, but I didn't expect it to. It also would have been nice if Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively simply because they're my favourite actor and actress, but I'm not too disappointed since I disliked American Hustle and once again I didn't really expect them to win.

I'm still mad that Pixar got snubbed this year though. Evil or Very Mad

I didn't watch the ceremony, but I did just look up the winners. I've not seen most of these movies, so I have few opinions on the matter.

I have no qualms about Pixar getting snubbed. They put out one movie this year, and I guess it just didn't compare. And Frozen was amazing, so there's no doubt it won (and besides, even though it isn't Pixar, it's still Disney Animation).

Maybe I should try and see some of the big movies this year. But other than "Her", none of them interested me.

I'm interested in seeing Gravity and 12 Years a Slave after the Oscars. So pleased that Frozen won best song and best animated film. I agree with Taral, Pixar didn't deserve a nod this year. Monsters University was cute, but not amazing.

Although, Despicable Me 2 was nominated, wasn't it? I take it back.

Did you see "her" yet? Saw it this afternoon, I enjoyed it.

Gravity is pretty much the only movie I liked in theatres that I don't want to re-watch on the small screen because I feel like much of the experience would be lost.

It was lost, I tried it.

You could say that watching Gravity on a small screen is lost in space.
