I haven't played TOR in a while. I took it off my computer because I think it was causing it to slow down. I might try re-downloading it and try it on a different server (I was using Harbinger). Which server do you guys use?

I'm on Jedi Covenant. a PvE East Coast server.

I beat the Sith Inquisitor storyline yesterday and now am working on leveling up someone on the Republic side. Problem is the only one I've been in the mode to play is my Trooper, who has been making dark choices.

Why thank you! I quite like running him in PvP...he can crank out some serious healing at times. Smile

I also use Jedi Covenant for the majority of my characters. Only Talus is on the Bastion, and that is only at the insistence of my sister that her character not be alone.

I typically play on the RP server, I think Ebon Hawk. Not because I do too much RPing in the game but I do find the player base to be slightly less annoying.

@Salaris and Mara: I'll probably use Jedi Covenant if/when I start playing again then.

Glad you liked it. Smile

And here are pictures of my characters (all on Jedi Covenant):

Maelcon (Commando Healer)

Aodhán (Gunslinger DPS) - you can't see it here but he has light tan pants with a dark red stripe down the leg just like Mal Reynolds (actually Zayne Carrick's pants re-dyed).

Guilhem (Jedi Shadow DPS) -still my main although I'm thinking of passing that title onto Aodhán eventually

While I have two other characters I don't really play them which is why they haven't gotten photos.

What species is Aodhán?

Cathar

I think the only way to get the species is to buy the unlock for that species in the Cartel Market (or get lucky on the Galactic Trade Network).

I was playing again a bit last month. Made a pair of new characters on Ebon Hawk. Not because I RP necessarily (though it's fun to see groups RPing when you're on an adventure. Good times).

I originally had characters on a PvP server (I had a friend who started there), but I didn't like it as much (I kept getting attacked, and when you're Free-to-Play and can't easily respawn on-site, then it makes a lot of questing difficult.)

gankers are the main reason I stay away from PvP servers. You still have a few on PvE servers but at least they can't automatically attack you unless you flag for PvP or they abuse a glitch to force flag you.

I was a little disappointed in this most recent patch. The "new story" was nothing more than a couple of short, tactical Flashpoints. They were fun, but not nearly what I expected from the hype. And the new stats categorization is confusing me. I now have a mini panic attack when a 72 drops on Tatooine...

Loving this game, though. I really thought the interest would die, but I'm sinking more hours into it than anything else. I continue to buy games for my Xbox is some type of hoarding obsession, but I haven't played a single one. To TOR goes all my free time.

I may not have a life, but at least I can say this. You can't beat $15 a month for entertainment! Smile

I think they made the change to make it consistent with crafting and also to give players a meaningful indicator. With crafting after you hit the level cap of 55 the only way to effectively sort the quality of an item is by it's rating (what currently shows on gear), but a level 72 item would just show as a level 55 craftable item so you had to identify quality based on the item number (ie reflex armoring 30) or look at the individual stats. Likewise the old way of putting the level number didn't tell you whether it was better than your current gear, just whether you could equip it or not (namely a level 29 purple armoring could be as good or better than a level 31 green armoring).

It's a little weird I grant but overall I think it's a very good improvement since you're being given a number that actually tells you whether it's as good, better, or worse than your current gear with one look unlike the old system which only told you if it was level appropriate or not.

so does anyone else play the Galactic Starfighter PvP minigame?

Personally I've really liked how the balance has evolved. There are still things that need fixing but I think they've come a long way in making a balanced game. I've really been intrigued by the new Type 3 striker. I had misgivings but I've been finding it has some interesting potential if you approach it like flying a B-Wing instead of an X-Wing.

My guildies and I finally finished Dread Palace! Oh, my gosh. I am so excited! This is the 5th time I have participated, and the 1st time we've won while I was there. They have finished it before, but I have not. The character I've been running for that is Bangarang, and they've come to call my presence "Bang's Bad Juju". But the curse has been broken. Huzzah. Cool
