Gas was eating away at the meager earnings I currently scrape in, and I had taken to secluding myself in my house most days. Such precious luxuries as coffee were sadly put aside as the price of gasoline continued to sky rocket. But suddenly...the prices have miraculously dropped! Seeing as the economy is in a shlump, this seems backwards. Sooo...how many of us think it's going to last? And when it does regain its rise, how fast will it advance and how far will it go?

Prices down here are around $2.49, as opposed to $3.99 a month ago. $2.49 is the average price we had before Katrina. I actually have a picture of them two days after Katrina just beginning to raise the prices. This is the first time down here since then (3 years ago) that they've dropped. And dramatically at that.

when I filled up my tank late last week it was around $3.20, it might have dropped since then though. I'm going to guess low prices will last maybe through election day. After that say hello to high gas prices again.

Interestingly the gas station nearest my house which was a Mobile looks like its become Sunoko (based on the change in color scheme). I don't know if it helps at all but I've been avoiding buying Exxon or Mobile gas in the hopes that if enough people do it it will hurt those two gas giants enough to cause them to lower prices. I at least feel better by depriving those two companies of my money.

I think it was around $2.45 this morning. Been dropping steadily for the last two months. I'd rather not think about it going back up, so I'll just enjoy it as it slides down. Very Happy

I'm still one year away until I can legally drive. And I'll probably not drive for a few years. So, ha-ha! Laughing

$2.12! By this rate, it'll be a 1.90 by Christmas.
