STAR WARS: LORDS OF THE SITH by Paul S. Kemp

When the Emperor and his notorious apprentice, Darth Vader, find themselves stranded in the middle of insurgent action on an inhospitable planet, they must rely solely on each other, the Force, and their awesome martial skills to prevail. Created in collaboration with the Lucasfilm Story Group. Coming March 2015. Jacket art by Aaron McBride.

It's unclear yet whether this is replacing the long hinted out Kemp duology, but I believe it is.

Paul shared a little bit more about the book on his blog:

Quote:
My next Star Wars novel was announced today (press release here). This is the cover. Just. Look. At. It.

Now, I actually wanted to title the novel, “Force Lightning, Mofos!” but that idea was not well received. Smile

A blurb from Del Rey:

When the Emperor and his notorious apprentice, Darth Vader, find themselves stranded in the middle of insurgent action on an inhospitable planet, they must rely solely on each other, the Force, and their awesome martial skills to prevail. Created in collaboration with the Lucasfilm Story Group. Coming March 2015. Jacket art by Aaron McBride.

I can say a few things more about the book: First, as is apparent from thatspectacular cover, the book features Vader and Palpatine. It also features a character who I’m not allowed to name just yet, but who appeared in The Clone Wars animated series. In terms of where it fits in the timeline, Lords of the Sith is set after the Revenge of the Sith film and before the forthcoming Rebels television show.

Alas, that’s all I’m allowed to say at this point about the substance of the book.

I’m excited about it, though, and hope you are, too.

Oh, and finally: BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!

This is the one book of the new lot that I know I'm going to read. Paul S. Kemp writing a book about Vader and Sidious. Can't pass that up.

Yep, I'm definitely looking forward to this one too. I'm not sure if this is what Kemp originally had in mind for his mysterious duology or not, but either way, a Sith novel will be fun. Going to be a long wait till March, though.

Definitely pumped for a Sith-centric novel. Glad the new round of books is covering so many different characters and not just the big three.

Psyched for this...but still not pleased about the whole situation.

Not too fussed about this one just yet, actually. It would be interesting to see how Vader and Sidious interact with one another, but the story doesn't sound interesting.

Other than the Tribe of the Sith ebooks, I haven't read any other stories that focused on the Sith (still haven't read Darth Plagueis).

It's on my "Star Wars - To Read" list. Smile

Karpyshyn's Darth Bane trilogy are some of my favorite Sith books. We'll see if Kemp can top those.

Surprised? Excited? Underwhelmed? Think there will be another character from the Clone Wars?

Well, I watched TCW, but can't remember who [spoiled character] is; so I'd say I'm underwhelmed. But, since this info came from only the Sampler, there could be more TCW characters in the book.
