A friend of mine and I were actually talking about going to school in Canada. We discussed this back in like March. We still may go through with it.

Didn't we already debate this?

Unless I'm mistaken in that debate I did agree that the Fairness Doctrine was stupid. What I disagreed with was your view on how liberal the media had become. Or maybe I'm going completely insane, it is 2:30 in the morning afterall.

If you can't see how liberal the media has become, you're blind. Last night I didn't see one picture of McCain after 7:30 on Yahoo! News. Did you know that Sarah Palin was found innocent of the charges brought against her in Alaska? I doubt it-- I didn't see it anywhere in NY.

Mark my words-- things are going to start changing in America for sure; and not for the better. When we have this"Fairness Doctrine" and this distribution of wealth, we will have gone from the freest, most capitalist country in the world to Socialism 101. Socialism is great for an ailing economy, though, right? Just ask Germany.

But, hey, Obama speaks well! (I still don't think he can speak a thing without a written speech)) Rolling Eyes Getting out of NY, I am, or die from the taxes I will.

Well true, but there are so many things that Obama believes that I don't agree with. However, I've decided to hold my judgment until later. I'll pray for him, as I would pray for any President, and I'll pray for our country. But I'm not here to bash anyone. However, that doesn't mean I won't point out the things I don't agreew with. So, as they happen, I may be voicing negative comments. But I will try my very best not to bash or criticize simply because.

But reaallly Obamas view on a LOT of stuff....is actually logical....Now Socialism doesnt mean promising a proper division of wealth(THATs every govts AIM in a Mixed Economy like America)
___________
The gap b/w the rich and the poor....reducing it is an aim of EVEry GovT...wanting stuff like that doesnt make one Socialistic......

Actually I do know Palin was found innocent. Just a few days ago Autobon and I had a debate which included that fact (though I pointed out that she had first been found guilty in an earlier report). I'd rather not retype the entire debate Autobon and I had though. You're being very presumptuous that I'm not aware of the news and it sounds like you're basing that on the fact that I'm liberal minded.

Also since when do pictures count as showing whether something is conservative or liberal? If I want to see pictures I'll go to an art gallery, if I want news I'll read the words in articles. Based on your criteria though the news has been over-the-top conservative because of all the photos of Bush and other Republicans for the past few years. And if pictures are the basis of how liberal the media is we've been in dead center because I've seen at least as many photos of McCain/Palin on Google News as Obama photos for the duration of the campaign.

It sounds like your upset that the news isn't publishing stories that favor your view point anymore but have no problem if it is conservative and downplays opposing liberal views. So are you saying that its bad when the "liberal" news tries to forward its agenda but it is fine when conservative news smears anyone who disagrees?

I'd like to point out that our current state of capitalism got us into this economic mess. Also according to Adam Smith (one of the originators of capitalism) in capitalism the rich are supposed to give back to the community. So in a manner of speaking not redistributing wealth is un-capitalistic.

And pretty much all of Europe is socialist to one degree or another unless I've completely gotten my facts wrong. So far they seem to be doing a lot better than we are (given that their currency has been worth more, as I understand it college doesn't cost an arm and a leg, etc.).

Also I'd disagree that America is going to get worse with Obama, I think it will get better or at the very least hold. If it is going to get worse it started with Bush with wire tapping without a warrant, supporting torture (how can we take the high ground if we torture people), imprisonment without charges for an indefinite period of time. Bush ran roughshod over the Constitution and got away with it. Short of becoming a dictatorship or completely blasting our economy back to the stone age I don't think it would be possible to top everything Bush has done.

First off i want to give my opinion on this. I do think it awesome that we have finally elected a black president. I really truly believe that is an incredible thing. However, i wish the first black president wasnt Obama, who is the most liberal president to ever be elected. The guy has even been a huge supporter of late term abortion (when there is absolutely no doubt in anyones mind that the baby is very much a human being)

So this historic moment is both filled with pride, and unbelievable disgust with America. I wish the first black president had been someone more like Colen Powell, or something.

She was not found guilty. It was an intilial report, like an accusation. After the probe and investigation was over she was found innocent. So shame on everyone who smeared her. And believe the media went nuts on Palin, not just for that, but for everything.

Also, again like Son of Skywalker said. The media is incredibly liberal. Here is another study, i have. The Excellence of Journilism report -

"57 percent of the stories about McCain as negative, with 14 percent positive. The rest were neutral. Obama's coverage was mixed: 36 percent positive, 29 percent negative"

So ya. And i already posted another report about his as well. So of course Obama won. The media has been portraying him as this historic and powerful moving person from the get go. Even though, he has not gotten anything done in his political career in senate the media really bought in to his ability to change America. And just watch, the minute he goes into office, there is going to be a sharp switch in stories coming from the media. The economy will look more hopeful, public relations will be peachy, etc. Just watch, it will happen, it already has to an extent. Lol, i am already reading stories how Obama's run is making the economy jump up a little, as bogus as that is.

And the media was never conservative. Not in the last 20 years. Unless of course you have a report to prove it.

Ya, but look at how it was done in the past. The wealthy helped start schools, they built libraries, etc. They did things to help people succeed, they didnt just hand out welfare.
