They needed a bigger male audience. My guess is that they thought showing as much of Natalie Portman's skin as they could would do that for them. Personally, I actually regard that as the worst of the six base movies and I haven't seen it in almost 18 months. I'd almost forgotten about that part. Hey, and it was the first movie where we saw a Jedi wear something that wasn't just the light brown tunic thing. Anakin got into the black leathers!

Ah, you're absolutely right there, Caedus. Amidala had some awful outfits. I know they were probably trying to go for exotically beautiful, but...it didn't pan out so well. Leia, on the other hand, got it right almost every time. She always looked great. Smile

It wasn't even that they were awful . . . they just changed every five seconds! It was like she couldn't wear the same thing once it was 5 minutes old.

Hurray for the epic evil style. There's something abot that black robe with no visible face that's practical, incognito, and awesome.

Proof that even a Sith can pull off the evil kitty look:

"Grrr. Beware the CLAW!"

And here we have the "Rogue" Cat look...

It has the "I hang out with smugglers but I'm not scruffy looking" appeal.

That sounds like some sort of tag line in a magazine or fashion show. I can see it now, "Ready to woo a princess? Want to save the galaxy single-handed? Or how about just want to be that dashing rogue all the girls are falling for? Here's the outfit for you! It has the 'I hang out with smugglers, but I'm not scruffy looking' appeal." To borrow that last bit from you. Very Happy

while we've mostly been talking about outfits and stuff, what about droids? i mean, not all of them are drab and gold. personally i think the commando droids were way cooler looking then any regular battle droid Wink
