I'm going to aim to get chapters 4-6 done by the end of next weekend (i.e. by August 22).

Whew, slugged through chapters 6 through 9. I noticed the prose has an awful habit of overusing everyone's name. One out of five sentences will begin with a character's name. It makes the prose very clunky. There's also some awful use of 'Han said, "dialog", Luke said, "dialog". Now I'm okay with using 'said' before dialog begins as it's a lot better than when McCormick does dialog and doesn't differentiate who's saying what. But what killed me is when Han's ex-girlfriend does the 'blank said' for dialog including 'so and so said'. So it was two said's in rapid succession. Really lazy writing there or at least a blatant disregard for crafting smooth, pleasing prose.

At least Waru killed someone. Hmm, was that the first death in the book? I don't think anyone died in the kidnapping event, so it could be.

A fetish for ideas that hold as much interest and passion as old religious relics for some. We display them in our homes. They show who we are. They are signals for similar thinking people. A way we connect with each other...and I guess thats why I do toys. That connection." -Ashley Wood
