Has anyone played Warframe? Here is a story blurb:
They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun: masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more.
The Grineer, with their vast armies, are spreading throughout the solar system. A call echoes across the stars summoning the Tenno to an ancient place. They summon you.
Allow the Lotus to guide you. She has rescued you from your cryostasis chamber and given you a chance to survive. The Grineer will find you; you must be prepared. The Lotus will teach you the ways of the Warframes and the secrets to unlocking their powers.
Come Tenno, you must join the war.
It's an MMO style game that caters largely to group play. It's also F2P. There are things you can buy, but nothing patience and regular effort won't get you otherwise. It's not at all a PTP in F2P disguise. I've just started playing this weekend, and I am loving it! Sure, it's another MMO. But there's just something about it that's different. Here is a link to a page that gives a basic summary on its features:
Warframe: Quick Start Guide
There is no character creation, you play the character you are given. Whether or not you have a name, I don't yet know. But you are called Tenno. You are also able to choose your Warframe, which would in essence be your class. You can choose from Excalibur, Mag or Volt.
One of the features I am most thrilled about is the multiplayer support. You are not only able to play with someone else, you are encouraged. My husband and I have so far been able to play everything together since the tutorial.
The game is also gorgeous! Here is a screenshot of my Tenno on his ship:
I encourage anyone interested in a casual MMO to come join! It certainly can't hurt to try.
