I read the first book and I thought it was okay. The trailer for the movie looks terrible though, so yeah...

and honestly, think about it: if he's a 200 year old vampire, then that makes him a pedophile. and since vampires are dead, she's a necrophiliac!

not so much the book, but all the fangirls, squeeling about how hot all the guys are and stuff. i can't leave my house without hearing it! although i just promised my friends that i'd at least make an attempt to read it... with will probably drive me to suicide.....

Yeah, it's more than a little ridiculous that girls are acting this way about a character in a book. Kind of sad, actually. Men in the real world are not good enough.

The book in and of itself is interesting. Not great, but interesting. But yeah, actually, most of the girls I know think it looks like a bad movie cause the guys look to pale and weird. Personally, I have no drive to read the rest of the book series. It just wasn't that impressive and it was either borrow that or THE LEAP by Johnathan Stroud from a friend. I made my choice, and I think I won out.

Most of the girls I know who are excited about seeing the movie are because "it is going to be sooo bad it will be awesome!" The logic doesn't really make that much sense to me but then again girls frequently confuse me anyway so its no surprise.

I'll be glad when its over cause whenever I go into a Borders one of the first things I see is a Twilight wall calender with the characters staring at me all creepy like.

Yeah, its everywhere and I have a feeling it'll be a big thing until they've made all the books into movies.

A friend of mine (who loves the series of books) went to the midnight showing last night. She hated it.

I didn't think the trailer looked too promising, but...guess I can't judge a movie til I see it. I won't be watching Twilight, but I am curious to see what you guys think. Let me know once you've watched it! Smile

A friend offered to pay for my ticket if I'd go with them so I went. Just a couple of complaints...

1) 2 hours of staring intensly at each other cannot replace actual storyline. Sorry.
2) The acting was a little weak, but maybe that ties to the complaint above.
3) There was glitter on his face. I realize the book says that his skin shone, but glitter? really...it made him look less, uh, masculine than I had originally envisioned. My advice, avoid this film and feel weirded out by the author of the book (she loved the film). Ugh...

honestly, i'll say this again. real vampires don't sparkle. they burn. sun=bad.
and the only way i can describe the book: bad fanfiction. just, ugh. and yet i will hear nothing but how great it was for the next 2.5 weeks straight.
