Name that Decade!

I have just come up with a new game off the top of my head, inspired by the recent trip I took to Texas. My friend and I were able to stay in a house free of charge, and this was a major perk when considering travel expenses. However...the house was quite scary. I was unable to complain, as it was free and very generous, but it was such an ugly house...

Anyway, I will now post a picture of one of the rooms in the house, and you must guess the decade it was built. Then you may post your own picture of something: A clothing style, decor, vehicles, the cover of a movie or book, etc. Then someone must guess the decade it originated from. There can be no words in your picture, however, as this may end up being a clue in some cases. Oh, and if you would like to do a different era altogether, such as the Middle Ages, that's fine, too. It doesn't have to be a recent decade (1900's to now).

I read the original post so that it kind of hints towards 20th century... Still, I am guessing 1870s.

Most of the furniture could be even older than late 19th century by the looks of it. And I am looking at the window with it's small glass panels, Most of 20th century would just have big glass panels.

Did someone already mention 1950s? It can't be younger than that without being deliberate retro, not even in Texas. Wink

Is it the 80s? My grandmother's wallpaper looked a lot like this until a few years ago, and her house had been built in the 80s. I'll add, I wouldn't want to walk on that floor. Way too shiny. Smile

Congratz OMB and Reepicheep! This house was built (I asked the owners) in the late 70s/early 80s. I do agree with ya'll that it looks like late 19th century, though. *shrugs* The original owner's wife had issues when it came to decorating...that's all I can think.

So...Reepicheep, since you guessed correctly first, you now have the privilege of providing the next picture. Smile
