If they make hardcovers, they will eventually make paperbacks. Thus, they have twice the chance to make money.

I can't blame them-- they are business and they need to work to stay that way. Nobody is forcing you to buy the hardcover, after all.

True...I suppose I hadn't thought of it that way. It's only my excitement that causes me to buy the hardback, not the company. They do always come through with a paperback. Hmm...interesting point.

I think they realize with this book people will either see it and buy it as a hardcover or wait until a paperback. It's a little different than, say, LOTF where many people buy the hardcovers so they can be "in the know" and discuss it quickly after release.

Checking the unofficial CD for the novel, it certainly seems to be a thriller and I look forward to reading it for fun.

The new synopsis has brought up a very interesting question amongst my friends, so I thought I'd mention it here and see what us Star Wars fans have to say about it. Since this may be considered as spoilers to some people, I've enclosed it in spoiler tags so be sure to read the synopsis/blurb and let me know what you think:

Wow...I'd completely forgotten about this! Coming out in October, eh? Am still excited to see what's in store for this type of novel. Wish we'd hear something about it, though. Seems to kind have fallen out of the news. Guess they don't have much to share beyond a cover and a plotline, though. So I suppose it's just a wait for the release, now. Neutral

Really Reep? You've never read any Horror novels? I'll admit, I've yet to read a western novel, but I think I have all the other genres covered.

Nope. Horror never really interested me until now. Actually I did borrow Skeleton Crew by Stephen King from my uncle, to prep for Death Troopers.

Ooo, Skeleton Crew was an excellent read. He had some good sci-fi stories buried in there like Beachworld. Very Happy

Yeah, I'm looking forward to reading it. I made sure it had short stories, so that Death Troopers would still be my first horror novel just for the novelty.

I like this illustration. Very interesting:

I was going to say I hope we get a cover soon. Forgot we already have one! Seems like it's been so long...and so long to go! Wow...this is a year of waiting. Neutral

I like it. It really makes me wonder if it can make me stay up at night, jumping at every noise though. Neutral It seems too Star Wars to be scary.

I wonder who the jedi is?
EDIT: Mara, I love your new location. Smile How goes the USPS Invasion?

Thanks, Reep! Well...no prize yet. But it shouldn't be long now, they can't resist of the power of the Force for long!

My guess is that the Jedi is meant to represent a player character in Galaxies' tie-in to the novel.
