See I think the novel could be good since its Luceno. I have faith in him.

And Dicaprio can play anything in the world, just look at Blood Diamond and Inception, and then tell me he couldn't have done it if he wanted to.

In all fairness, maybe Dicaprio could have pulled it off, but the mental image is disturbing beyond measure. Plus, at some point during the opening space battle in RotS, people would have had to yell, "I'm flying, Jack!" at the screen. Wink

I'll start a thread for this arguement later so the mods don't jump me, but people can't see Dicaprio in anything but Titanic. People forget that he's a thespian, he was in Blood Diamond, Inception was amazing, he's adapting Twilight Zone episodes as a fan, and other such things. He really could've been Anakin and I would've loved it.

I dunno...I just don't think he has the look for it. Although...he would have been perfect to morph into Sebastian Shaw in RotJ. Very Happy

I'm gonna refrain from saying anymore about it until Caedus starts an official thread. Smile

Star Wars tends to flesh out everything, leaving nothing to our imaginations, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. Personally I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Hopefully we will get this novel this time, have to say I'm really excited of the possibility that this novel might still see the light of day.

One thing - the description we got of the novel back at the time seemed to indicate that it was really about as much about Qui-Gon's search for immortality as about Darth Plagueis.

Now that could be cool. I'd like to hear about Qui-Gon's search for immortality in the Force. Smile

Kriff mystery and give me Plagueis Laughing

This, if true, would be my most wanted Star Wars book on the horizon. I'd certainly take this over another Imperial Commando book, HOWEVER, I want a Plagueis book like the Bane Trilogy. I want Plagueis to be the star, not some interesting plot element or flashback character. I'd like to see Plagueis as a child, as he falls to the dark side, as he takes Sidious as his apprentice, his discovery of cheating death, and ending with his death.

I could do without Qui-Gon.

Yeah I agree with DS - leave Qui-gon out of it, they can give him his own book. Wink

I also like DS's idea of them being similar to the Bane books. I would like to see a series of books similar to the Darth Bane books maybe ending with Sidious rising to take his position.

Sue just answered my question on the Star Wars Forums - she confirmed that the novel is coming, but this is not the replacement for ImpCom2 that she mentioned.

Their search for immortality was supposed to mirror each other, one in light, one in darkness, with the known result of Qui-Gon succeeding and Plagueis failing.

Good to get a confirmation! Very Happy

Oh, good. I don't know why that makes me feel better, but I don't feel that this was a worthy replacement for ImpCom2. Course...I don't think anything will satisfy me, so oh, well. Sad

That could work really well. I'm happy that this is not the Imperial Commando replacement, because I'm still hoping it will be about Boba Fett/the Mandalorians.
