It's not the IC II replacement according to that aforementioned editor's post in TOS forums. That's yet to come.

Well I certainly look forward to this one, but it doesn't "replace" IC2 in my book(or whatever one is intended to do that). It's not a Traviss thing either, in fact I often hated her portrayal of the Jedi. But I want those characters storylines wrapped up somehow.

If the Plagues book comes out I wonder what happened to that being nixed previously. What changed their mind?

I like the mirroring idea, that has appeal. Qui-Gon going off into the Living Force, I could certainly enjoy reading about him delving into some philosophical stuff on that. However, Plagueis didn't completely fail. He did discover the secret, but it might have been geared more towards bringing the deal back to life or creating life, not so much immortality or invincibility. That would make a pretty good lesson, in his quest for immortality, he lost sight of the difference between immortality and invincibility, however his apprentice makes the fateful discovery and uses it to supplant him.

I want to read more about the Sith's involvement with the downfall of the Republic. I hope this is explored in this novel. It would be interesting if Plagueis had any involvement with politics, or at least taught Palpatine how to infiltrate the political scene.

I don't know how much of a mystery there is. Unless Plagueis actually succeeded.

I honestly think this will be fine. And I'm guessing they'll never reveal if he succeeded or not, they'll just make it ambiguous and leave it up to us SW geeks

I would prefer it being confirmed that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Plagueis' creation... Or Sidious', based on his master's work.
