Get Michael Stackpole to write another Rogue book after this one is released.

"Problem" solved. :D

I wonder if there will be more? This is after all an age of reboots. Wink

LOVE that title! I need to read the original Wraith Squadron books before this new one is released.

Love it! Best of both worlds.

Actually I would rather see him create a new squadron. One of my issues with Legacy of the Force was having Jania and then Jacen take over command of Rouge Squadron instead of some other squadron. They've become too dependent on the Rouges and would like them to create some more.

One possibility I considered was having a book series based on the test pilot squadron that Sal joined in Legacy of the Force. With a set up like that they could constantly switch out the ships they use to allow more varied plots.

@VileZero: I liked the X-Wing omnibuses alot. They were surprisingly good.

@Werehunter: title is definitive. Star Wars Books announced it on Facebook, and that's Del Rey's official Star Wars voice on Facebook.

As for the title, Mercy Kill could indeed be a ship, a name of an operation, it could even be say the name of some mission some evil Moffs cook up. Maybe in regards to killing Jag, a mercy kill to save the Empire. In that case the Wraiths would be there to stop them.

Opps, my post was in reference to people wanting Stackpole to write another Rouge Squadron. Not a comment on the title of the upcoming Wraith Squadron book. I should have put Stackpole rather then him in my post.

I think Skuldren's commentary was meant to me.

I knew it was posted in Facebook -I saw it there-, but I just couldn't help to wonder if they'll change it, like they have done with others (Choices of One among them).

Don't expect Stackpole to write for Star Wars anytime soon. There are some issues involved there.

Sure, but Stackpole has said lately he'd like to write another Rogue Squadron novel.

Yeah, I've seen several recent interviews where he's said that, and he was on the Jedi Journals podcast and said he would definitely write another book. It seems like the ball is in Del Rey's court.

That sounds quite spectacular, and I'd love to see that. Though, sadly, I'm not sure how much that's likely. It's set in two time frames, right? Something like 13 ABY and post FOTJ. That sounds like it's most likely got flashbacks, in which case, said plot could be workable. However, if it's done as something like Crosscurrent, then that might not be the plot they choose to do.

In my mind, the 13 ABY flashbacks kinda makes sense, since Starfighters of Adumar was set in that same year (And it was Allston's last X-Wing novel. Well, untill Mercy Kill) And I do have to agree that Michael Stackpole should write an eleventh X-Wing novel after Mercy Kill comes out.

With all this Stackpole talk, we should start a petition Very Happy

Too bad this Wraith Squadron book is so far away. It's almost a shame to get hyped up about it so early.

My biggest EU pipe dream for while has been Del Rey handing Stackpole and Allston contracts to write an one X-Wing novel a year for several years. One Rogue novel in the spring, one Wraith novel in the fall.

Well. We're halfway there!
