Mara is absolutely correct. Our area tends to be extremely...uppity. I miss our old theater. It was close and affordable and I rather dislike the new one. I have been known to actually drive the 40 minutes to another one a few towns over.

Yea, the theater I usually go to has temporarily disabled online ticketing for whatever reason, so I ordered from another theater 25 minutes away because I want to make sure I get in if there's a crowd...

I live in Wichita KS, home of the nicest theatres anywhere except LA and Orlando. I love my movie-going life Very Happy

I feel I may be alright getting in, I doubt there will be many throbbing crowds yearning to feast their eyes on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D in SAAAAAAAAAAF LUNDUN

Indeed. We used to have two (the old one included an IMAX), until over-priviledged rich teenagers believed that the newer (and much more expensive) of the theaters deserved their business, exclusively. Personally, I liked the old theater better. It was more personal, much cheaper, had an IMAX, and had just been renovated. The continual decline of customers thanks to the newer theater eventually put it out of business.

A similar thing happened to me. I miss our old theatre. Sad

I'll be seeing it tomorrow at 4:20. Wanted to see it at midnight, but it would have just been me and one other friend. A larger group is going tomorrow, so that should be fun. We've got one of those "Big D" theaters, and I've never watched a movie in it, so I'm pretty excited... despite the fact that I'm still not a fan of 3D. Wink

Just got back from it. 3D criminally underused, it's basically non-existent. You're essentially paying to watch the Blu-Rays on a big screen. I'll see the rest when they come out, but this is a big fail 3D-wise.

That's not good. I think we at least all seemed to agree that, regardless of if the idea of 3D was good or not, ILM was sure to do a fine job. Very surprising.

Yes, agreed entirely. I thought 3D was a terrible idea, but surely ILM would raise the bar once again. They always have and I assumed they always would. Sad

I've said it many a time, 3D conversions never use what they could to the full capacity. I was terrified that this would just be Lucas squeezing a few million more dollars out of fans and it looks like its true. I say this hating myself because I'll see it even though I'm aware of this...

Movies are too expensive. They're what like 11 dollars plus another 4 bucks for 3d? You can buy a new blu-ray for cheaper than that.

When does it come out on Redbox?

1) Movies are between 6-9 bucks in most places, and 10-12 for 3D. Sometimes they are worth it, sometimes not, but its really not that expensive.

2) Blu-Ray movies are 28-25 bucks almost everywhere when they're new, unless they are direct to home video and even then its around 14-20 even though the movie usually sucks.

3) Redbox standard is anywhere between 5-7 months after the film release, so you can probably rent it this summer for your home theater viewing.
