I know we haven't seen him in action yet, but what do you think of the new guy?

Personally, I think he's ver over-rated. From what I can tell he's Darth Maul version 2.0 and there isn't much new or exciting about him. According to a starwars.com preview we will see Sith training For The First Time! Well, we all know that one only needs to read a Darth Bane book, or other EU material, to see Sith training. I just can't get excited about this guy like I could with Cad Bane.

And as for the name... yeah. Neutral

I don't think he's over rated. I think he is untrained and you will see him get the Sith training after the first of the year. One thing that I brought up in my conversation after the screening - there is a "session" that is kinda recreated but "flipped" in my opinion. And if I heard the dialog correctly, some of the lines within this scene are verbatim from ep 5.

When I hear his name, I think of a female. Mostly because his name is so similar to Ventress.

Not a good start for a Sith. Sad

.......... a good start for a Sith but the character is a beast. Give him a chance, it was interesting to see him in action.

Savage is going to change the show and there will be extra weight and consequences with him around, that's for sure. Just as a character, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

I wonder when he'll return to the series.

I'm definitely interested. They left his character completely hanging!

I'd be very, very suprised if he didn't return. I can't say I'm holding my breath though.

I liked the Nightsisters trilogy myself. It was exiting to see the world of Dathomir.

As did I but, to be honest, I wasn't bowled over by Oppress. I'd like to see more of him, if only so that he can have another chance to impress me.

I was impressed that they at least attempted to give him some depth. If anything it implies there could be some depth to Maul's character, which I had previously thought impossible.

I really like the Opress character. I am a bit worried that he is so, seemingly super-powered in the Force. Not quite at the same level as Starkiller, but definitely an uber strong Force-user.

My pet theory is that we will see an Maul/Opress form a third faction in the Universe and make the Clone Wars into an even bigger fur ball.

There is also the potential subplot, what if the Nightsister's magic wears off or is partially reversed in some way and Opress gets weakened in the Force or in his physical stature.

I wonder if the whole Maul thing was just a trick. Was there any other conformation that Maul is alive besides the end of Witches in the Mist?

I think that Insider confirmed it, and the episode guide for Witches in the Mist on SW.com strongly hints at it.

I guess I'm holding on to a loose definition for alive. I can see Nightsister magic reviving him, but only in a lost Sith spirit sort of way. Ajunta Pall style. But who knows.
