So I was reading an article about Amazon's new lending service and ran across this quote from a big publishing house:
Macmillan CEO John Sargent has said, “You get the book, read it, return it and get another, all without paying a thing. ‘It’s like Netflix, but you don’t pay for it. How is that a good model for us?’ ”
So how do libraries handle eBooks? Do the libraries have to buy a copy of each eBook they lend out? And if that's the case, then I fail to see why Mr. Sargent is complaining, cause it's no different than anything else. As long as there is a limiting factor, the publishing houses are in the clear.
