[quote="Mara Jade Skywalker"]Cryptum is the first in the new Forerunner Saga. It's being written by Greg Bear, and Cryptum is scheduled to be released on January 4. However, I saw it at a local Books-A-Million a few days ago. So...seems it's out early.
The Forerunner Trilogy will be about, you guessed it, the Forerunners! Which is exciting, but also confusing.

This confuses me because I had come to the conclusion that the humans
were the Forerunners, or vice versa. And that they had simply activated the Halo system millennia before hand to stop the Flood, wiping out all human life so that the evolutionary cycle had to start all over again. I suppose I misunderstood? Because the book states that there is early Forerunner/human contact. Unless that's just a red herring.
At any rate, the Forerunner Trilogy is about the Forerunner vs. Flood war. So that'll be very interesting.
I...don't...know...how...Gah! I knew that trilogy was coming out, but for some reason I had it written down for the end of next year! And I have so many books to read first! OH! I have money! I can get it! I was saving my pennies for a trip, but I guess a tenner can go missing, and read it later!

Ah, yes. I forgot about this little spoiler thingy! Hello! Now I don't have to speak in code! Yes, humans are supposed to be descendants of the Forerunners, although to my knowledge there hasn't been an explanation as to how that was possible yet, although VileZero may know, since it sounds as if he's seen the cartoons and read the comics. I know you haven't got a 360, but are you familiar with Halo 3? Because there's a line where Guilty Spark turns to the Master Chief and says 'you are Forerunner.' Personally, I've always assumed that some Forerunners went to earth and hid in a construct like the one in Ghosts Of Onyx. I think it's a safe bet that an explanation will feature in the last book off that trilogy[spoiler].
