comanderbly Master Joined: 29 Feb 2008 Posts: 745 Location: Denver Leia still communicates a positive image for women. She has all the qualities of a great leader and hero. The bikini's main downside is the body image message it sends to women. That's a very big issue (name a TV show that does not have the problem) but I do not feel that outfit that is the only message Leia conveys. Leia initially went in to save Han, and unfortunately ended up a prisoner. She stood up against one of the most dangerous criminals in the GFFA and took him down. When I put in my vote I was being honest about it being the image that comes to mind. I cast my vote for Leia because of the whole package not just the outfit. Women should be respected, no matter what they are wearing.

Besides, while George shoved Leia in a metal bikini, he also portrayed her as anything but a helpless victim. Go easy on them. For me: The LIGHTSABER! I can't even begin to express how cool these things are! They made knighthood possible in a technological society and they look so freaking cool!
