2- I didn't mind Jabba. The species I dislike are the ones that I don't believe evolution could ever generate. Like the Abyssin

Predatory species need two eyes at minimum, for depth perception. This guy could never have evolved. And that just bothers me. |
It could use natural sonar (like bats) to compliment the visual perspective.
But bringing up the evolutionary/biological aspect, I just wonder how the Hurrs could have ever evolved as a dominant species. They are fat almost to the point of immobility. However, we've only really seen the crime lords who sit on their butts and eat frogs all day. We haven't really seen the the "normal" healthy Hutts. |
I might buy the sonar thing, but it doesn't answer all the questions. Bats still have two eyes (even if some are blind, they have two eyes). They started with a pair, and then gained an echolocation ability. The Abyssin either started with one eye, and gained echolocation (which I don't think is possible), or they started with echolocation and got an eye (if their sonar was good, then there'd be no need for eyes, let alone only one). If they needed a light detector, there are significantly simpler structures than a complex lens-eye for it.
For Hutts, we do see Hutts in their prime in the movies, books, comics, etc. We see Jabba (twice), Gardulla, and Ziro all move about in the movies and in TCW. They can move around fine, and are actually quite strong. The ones that are immobile are either very rich and very old, and have basically eaten themselves to immobility (like real people sometimes do), or intentionally place themselves in repulsorchairs or repulsor-armor (like the Shell Hutts) and let their bodies atrophy. But most are still able-bodied. _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
