Abeloth had the potential to be one of the best characters in the EU. Too bad jamming all that info into the last book kinda spoiled it. It'll have to be taken lightly for awhile. No matter what this won't be a quite sort-out. None of the last 5 years or so of SW series will be. Abeloth could have been perfect.

I didn't even like the Mortis Trilogy episodes in TCW, but I liked how Denning incorporated them into Apocalypse. I thought it worked well. But I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea.

To me, tying the Mortis characters to the Celestials and then back to Abeloth made sense, and Denning left a lot of wiggle room for the details to be left to interpretation. Remember, the Killiks memories are shared things that assimilate myths as well as facts. And just because Luke thinks something doesn't mean he's right. It certainly wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong.

Oh yes I agree fully though at first I didn't care much for the direction denning took her history. Then the more I thought about it I like it. It does make sense for her character, but I wanted her to be more. My main problem is the thought of what if Denning jumped the gun with making her connect with Mortis and later Abeloth's history becomes invalid due to GL doing something else with Mortis. Then again Denning did leave loop holes so to speak. Like you said, Killik history and all, and I agree.

Well sort of. the Killik history telling is a bit hard to understand.

My understanding was that she wasn't a Celestial. She was a mortal servant to the celestials but drank from the Font of Power and swam in the Pool of Knowledge giving her her powers. But she wasnt a Celestial so she aged and grew corrupted by the power she inherited, while the Celestials she served remained the same.

I think in an interview Troy Denning said that the Ones are what the Celestials become. But I can't remember where I read it...
