I've got a library, I'll still read the books, and I've got a pull list so I'll still read the comics. I'm completely done with any tv shows though, and I won't buy anything until the quality picks back up. It just hasn't been worth it lately, and the only way to really tell them so is to stop handing over our cash. Star Wars has dipped in quality before, and when sales declined they made changes. It can work again.

Indeed. If enough fans "boycott" it might just get their attention.

I miss the SW of just a decade ago, when the stories were grand and modeled after things like Paradise Lost or Dante's Inferno instead of whatever random toy idea popped into Lucas's head that changes continuity. So they don't get my money anymore and I wait for it to be worth my money again.

I know Traitor is partially based on Inferno, but I never heard about one based on Paradise Lost. That's my favourite book after Narnia.

@Reep: Nom Anor's arc towards the end of NJO was partially based off of Paradise Lost as he was cast out and became the deceiver hoping to rise up against the one who ejected him. He was the pitiful, repentant Lucifer of that story and it worked so well.

Cool! I haven't made it that far through the NJO. I might just start over and read through it since there's not much going in with current releases.

My re-read of the NJO earlier this year shattered my brain, especially when I continued on and did DN, LotF, and FotJ all in chronological order after that re-read. NJO was a wonderful thing, so full of layers and riddles and reference that make it better instead of your standard, poorly thought out smash-and-grab.

I would love, absolutely love, to run through the NJO again. It greatly saddens me that I'm too slow of a reader to consider reading through 19 books in a timely manner. But one day! I shall read the NJO again. And it will be glorious. Cool

Lemme know when! You to Reep! We could all re-read it together or something, revive all the discussion, check the references and such, it could be fun! I've been wanting to start a geek podcast for Movies, Star Wars, and Comics and I think a round table discussion book by book would be fun for part of it.

Sounds interesting.

Hey guys I wanted to touch on something continuity themed that I found recently.

I'm slowly working my way through the Essential Guide to Warfare, and I'm on the chapter about the Rise of the Empire (post-Clone Wars). There is a throwaway line that right near the end of the Clone Wars, the planetary militias were amalgamated into the Grand Army of the Republic and the Republic Navy. This event is depicted in Republic 79-81: The Dreadnaughts of Rendili.

The comic Obsession follows immediately from this Republic arc.

As a result, it looks like Obsession is still in the continuity, just maybe a bit later than originally thought (and after the events of the TCW season 4 finale.

So my library has all of the hardcover books in the NJO and a couple of the paperbacks. To get the others, I'll either have to buy them (I can't afford to buy them new right now, but I'll keep an eye out for them at second hand stores) or get them at an out of town library. However, this library is a decent hike from my city and I'd have to wait until someone in my family is going up there.

If the wait gets too long, I can just skip some of the books. I already know a basic outline of the series, so I don't think it would hurt too much.
