Ackbar's hat would have been famous if it was in the film. I wonder if the deleted scenes were restored and the film cleaned before they were transferred to blu-ray or if they're going to look as they are in the trailer. I suspect the latter.

Yes it was. That is the one thing I allways wanted to see when I found out when I was a little kid the wampas attacking the base.

They had Wampas attacking Echo base when you play Shadows of the Empire on N64.
That was fun, until they eat you

HUZZAH!

Unless LucasFilm is toying with us, the lightsabers are fixed. At least in Return of the Jedi.

Palpy's black slug looks fixed also. With the crushed blacks gone, it looks like this release will be vastly superior to the botched DVD release.

I already got a Blu-ray player (PS3) but I have yet to have an HDTV to enjoy all the 1080p goodness on... Sad

I still have these bad boys. Cool

No weird-looking CG Jabba or Jar Jar in RotJ for me!

Is that the 1997 VHS versions? I have them but in a gold box.

I still have these on VHS:

Saw a video on youtube of a guy that had a copy in capacitance electronic disc.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-9JFCwgaQM

The guy says it's 16:9 and 1080p in the video but he's full of it. He's stretching the 4:3 image to 16:9 and the 1080 is upconverted from 240.

Reep's are the last VHS release before the 1997 Special Editions, so they don't have the additions like the Jabba scene with the gratuitous Fett shot in Episode IV or the Jedi Rocks dance number in Return of the Jedi. The gold box is the VHS release of the Special editions.

I've noticed that Star Wars boxart has had the tendency to get worse with each iteration. I think maybe the Special Edition VHS release is the exception since it's the film posters that were associated with the theatrical re-release, but they're still not as good as the original film posters.

Oh, I've got copies all the way back to Beta tapes. So yeah...I collect every version I can get my hands on. Currently own 7 versions of ANH and RotJ, and 6 versions of ESB. Very Happy

I actually have A New Hope in capacitance electronic disc and I've got a player. Both work too. Just something random I picked up cheap at a yard sale.
