I found a few recent interviews with Witwer where he said he's got another role on TCW coming up that he can't discuss further, but he said that Star Wars fans would flip out if they knew what it was. The other actor he was with for the interview, Sam Huntington from Fanboys, said that Witwer texted him on his birthday and told him about it and that he hijacked his birthday, so it sounds like a huge thing. Putting two and two together, I figure Sam Witwer must be voicing Darth Maul on TCW. That's actually pretty likely! He's done a decent enough job voicing other characters, and Maul wouldn't be a stretch for him like Palpatine was. Personally, I would like to see him voice Galen's father in TCW, but that's gotta be pretty unlikely.

Crash Override Master Joined: 22 Dec 2010 Posts: 1796 Location: Carcosa I'm guessing a premium wasn't put on returning the voice actor for Maul since he has three or four lines in the film -- that is, if it's true that Serafinowicz isn't returning for the role. What if Witwer is voicing Maul in the series, and they had him redub The Phantom Menace the same way that Temuera Morrison redubbed The Empire Strikes Back? *Hits hornet nest with baseball bat*

And why not make the clone a pawn, assuming she made the clone? Why bother with Opress? If you're deadset against Maul appearing, I think the best that you can hope for is that Maul is a spirit. But given that Lucas ultimately decided against the Sith spirits of Bane and Revan, the odds of that happening are slim. Given Opress' existence as a character though, there's definitely the possibility that Maul is kept alive through Nightsister sorcery but is otherwise untenable as a combatant.

Why? Because I think Witwer could play Maul even creepier in TPM than the other dude did it.
