Neil Young in Droids

While watching a Droids DVD with my girlfriend a while ago, we both agreed that Neil Young (Legendary Canadian Musician for anyone not familiar) must have been the inspiration for a character in the cartoon. I'm guessing the animator was a big fan.

I made this wee pic to compare.

What do you think? Is this Neil?

I see a resemblance, but what did the character's voice sound like? That would be the real kicker.

I know who Neil Young is. LOL Been following him since he was with Buffalo Springfield. Saw him in concert when he was with CSNY.

I still think it's a superficial resemblance at best. The eyes, nose, mouth and chin are different. And Yom's face is longer.

The name Nilz Yomm does sound a lot like Neil Young too, doesn't it?

Actually it was more a joke along the lines of, "Boy, am I glad that school's going to be starting soon." Which obviously doesn't pertain to you, and only pertains to me in that I'm really going to be glad when my teenager heads back to school in a couple of weeks. It's been a loooong summer. LOL

Absolutely no offense intended, and I do see (as I said) a superficial resemblance. But I see a lot of differences too. Interesting coincidence?

the face of the 1997 Dengar figure looks a lot like Johnny Cash
