I completely agree with you. I grew tired of all the rereleases and price hikes Lego kept dishing out, and I've quit collecting. It saddens me that I can no longer enjoy putting them together, but I wasn't going to keep giving my money to that nonsense. Confused

Call me nostalgic if you will people, but I miss the days when you had to make your own damn horse from the briks. The only thing you didn't have to do yourself was the Lego man and the original sword/wig/few other stuff. And Lego man had only one available head (maybe some wigs were available I can't remember).

Oh and I so suck for not having any SW Legos.

LEGO Star Wars set accused of racism.

Huh?!! That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Comparing a LEGO set to the Hagia Sophia? And Jabba a terrorist? What next - complaints about the Sith based sets?

Thought I'd revive this thread, even if only for a few weeks.

Since my last post two years ago, my SW collection has actually downsized, as I gave the UCS Naboo Starfighter, R2-D2, Hailfire Droid (2003) and the mini MTT (2003), Falcon, AT-AT (2003), and Republic Gunship (2003) sets to my local sciene center for use in their Inventor's Workshop. Those sets were easy to part with, as I never played with them much and they were only oversized or undersized versions of regular sets.

I haven't spoken with my supervisor yet about this, but I am seriously considering giving the original Desert Skiff, Lightsaber Deul, and Ultimate Lightsaber Duel sets to them as well.

This thread may be a bit dead, but I figured I'd comment anyways. I have a somewhat large LEGO collection, mainly comprising of the Star Wars genre. I feel that they're a bit overpriced, but at a few points, that didn't really matter to me, as most of the larger bits of my collection (Jabba's Sail Barge, X-wing fighter from 2012, X-wing fighter from 2006) were mainly gifts for either a) birthdays or b) that one time when I was in the hospital for a couple of months. It doesn't really grow consistently, as I try not to spend too much at any given time. I usually go out and buy a new set or two in the winter.

Hey Darth Bane, got any pics of your Star Wars LEGO sets on display? I haven't dove into the LEGO market yet, but it's always neat to see other fans' collections.

I don't exactly have anything to display, really, since I don't have a lot of room to get extravagant, and usually it's all strewn about because I make a lot of stopmotion and use different sets at different times.
