I recently joined the site. I just started college and I wanted to be sure that I would have people to discuss Star Wars with. I was first introduced to the EU through Balance Point (I had no idea it was in the middle of a series) and moved through the YJK and JA/JQ series quickly. I was first introduced to these forums after the official site closed, and I enjoyed the atmosphere here.

I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. That doesn't mean I hate the EU, or even love all of it. These are not prerequisites. Being a man is not a prerequisite. Being a geek is not a prerequisite. The only prerequisite is that I love something about Star Wars. I am a Star Wars fan.

I actually first read Balance Point 8 or 9 years ago. Since then, I have read most of the EU novels, and a good portion of the graphic novels.
I did enjoy Balance Point, but the Enemy Lines duology is probably my favorite in the NJO, followed by Star by Star, and Traitor. I try to reread NJO once a year (which can be difficult, due to all the other books that I want to read).
I can't wait for Apocalypse, but the book I am most looking forward to is Darth Plagueis. I'm sure Jim Luceno will do great things with that character.
