Dark Horse Solicitations for December

Scroll down to the Star Wars titles and check out this John Ostrander miniseries. This title sounds like fun, although I haven't been a fan of much Ostrander comics, including outside of Star Wars. What do others think about this?

Sorry, but that cover looks pretty rubbish! Like a kids' cartoon from 2004.

I was thinking something along those lines, as well. It looks poorly drawn. Like they didn't care. Confused

Also, look at Han and Chewie in the bottom right corner!! Ridiculous. The Aurebesh in the top left says "ESPO FILES".

Well I never judge a comic book by it's cover. The inside art is always different. That said, John Ostrander writes some pretty good Star Wars stories, so it will be neat to see what kind of stories he can spin with this.

The person on the cover reminds of me of Aaang from Avatar: the Last Airbender.

There's definitely a different style to the art. I'm kind of interested in giving it a try. Sometimes style change ups can be fun.

Having read issue #1, the series definitely has a lot of nods to James Bond. There's a bit of humor tossed in as well keeping the tone from being too serious. I'd compare the tone of the comic to the KOTOR series. The art style is different, but it's not bad. Some of the panels look really good.

Just finished reading this the other day, and I think it has a lot of promise. I am starting to enjoy these stories more, the one's that dont deal with the major players in the universe. They give the universe more depth.

First, I was very surprised to hear Star Wars: Agent of the Empire discussed in one of my favourite podcasts: IGN Assemble! (a podcast about comic books). They usually only discuss Marvel and DC, and if Dark Horse is mentioned at all it's almost always Hellboy. But they talked about Agent of the Empire, which got me really interested!

Then, I read it. SO GOOD!

One quick note: I'm one of those guys that tries to imagine the voice of the character speaking. Agent Cross to me is Daniel Craig, but lighter in humor.

I read issue #2 today. It was really good. I like how this series is progressing. I can see it having a lot of potential, and it really stands out from the other series. The artwork works well, too. This issue had a nice mix of action and romance, Bond-style. Very enjoyable.

I'm really enjoying this series so far. These are the kind of stories I would like to see in the Live Action series.

Plus I'm a big James Bond fan and anything that combines Bond and Star Wars is a plus in my book. Smile
