Happy happy birthday, to the noble mouse! Happy happy birthday, let's hear it through the house!

It was the best I could do. Wink

I've said this before, but still: Happy Birthday! Did you have a good day?

It was indeed a good one. Smile

I got some pretty neat presents this year. The best being a copy of one of, if not my favourite book, Till We Have Faces, a John Dillinger wanted poster t-shirt and a pen and ink set. Why would I want a pen and ink set, you might ask, when a perfectly good normal pen is at my disposal? I got the idea from C. S. Lewis. I'm a wannabe author and I've been having trouble writing a satisfying first draft, let alone a finished novel. Lewis wrote with pen and ink (which was antiquated, even in his day) because the dipping process gave him time to think about what he had just wrote and what he would write next. Consequently, he usually got his books right with one or sometimes two drafts. He finished 'Dawn Treader' in three months!

I'll be exercising my legal age tonight.

Nice! That's actually quite cool. Okay, to be fair, the pen and ink wouldn't be for me - I prefer the ready use of a thesaurus - but that sounds like the kind of object that would be very cool to have, let alone use!
