This excites me the most:

Quote:
I've noticed that speculation has already begun as to the identities of the rest of the scoundrels. Just to make it clear: while there may be a name or two you recognize, most of the rest of the group will be new characters. (Many of Han's old established cohorts are smugglers, and we're going to need *slightly* different skill sets on this one.)

From Timothy Zahn's Facebook page.

As much I love the inclusion of Mara Jade and Thrawn in nearly all his stories, I'm glad Zahn is branching out and creating new characters.

LOVE the cover! It's the best cover I've seen in a long time.

After reading the latest EU Action/Reaction column, I'm not sure how Zahn is going to pull off the Lando thing, but I'm super excited about this right now. It looks awesome.

I'm really excited!!! Lando!!!! The cover is amazing!!

LITP, give me 200 credits on Thrawn.

But, Black Sun could be the backer.

That's a likely possibility. Much in the vein of Shadows of the Empire, I could see Xizor playing both sides, perhaps on the behest of the Empire - though how that would work out, I don't quite know.

Concerning the cover art, I think it's interesting that Paul Youll did this one. As far as Star Wars goes, Paul Youll does all the X-Wing covers. Yet Paul did not do the new Mercy Kill cover.

In a way, he's making quite the comeback, though. Paul did Scoundrels, The Essential Reader's Companion, and he did a lot of artwork in The Essential Guide to Warfare.

I actually really like the cover art. Especially if we get smoe of the other characters on the back to show what they look like.

I stole this comment from another site but: "If Jaxxon isn't included, its the biggest missed opportunity ever". And I tend to agree. Just for shits and giggles PLEASE!

I haven't given too much thought to alien smugglers, but the mention of Jaxxon has me hoping they have some alien smugglers on the back.

Honestly I'm more excited about this than any other forthcoming novel right now (I'll be excited for Mercy Kill when I've caught up with the X-Wing series).

I'm hoping Booster Terrik appears in the book. Even if it's just a smart role. I'm always happy to see more of him.
