The new Man of Steel trailer looks promising:

I've always liked what Superman stood for, but I haven't really seen him in anything that I liked. I think this might be the one for me. I love the idea of Superman not being accepted by the world. I think its the perfect way of bringing Superman into the 21st Century without comprimising his character as a goody-goody.

Called it, I kinda figured you wouldn't like it. How much of it has to do with Zack Znyder though? (the 'Z' was too fun to resist)

Still, it looks good. Very indicative of the character work they want rather than balls-to-the-wall action sequences. They got a relatively unknown actor to portray Clark and I'm curious about how that will go, but its being built more to be a story about a god trying to grow up as a man rather than the campy "ba ba baaaa baba baa ba ba bup baba" of the old movies. I'm psyched for this, I think it will outdo even the harshest critics expectations.

I'll have to see it before I can pass judgment, but it can't be worse than Superman Returns, surely.

Oh you mean Superman 5.608: Superman Bores the Audience to Sleep?

Was it only 2? Dear lord, it felt like 4 or so. Kevin Spacey was great, but he wasn't enough to carry that ridiculousness.

I tried to give it a chance, but when Supes flew Lois into space, my suspension of disbelief kind of died.

I've never been a big fan of Superman, so this was always going receive a 'meh' from me. Having said that, I do like the premise, and the trailer looked kind of interesting.

No, it's not entirely because of zsynder, but it doesn't help. Maybe it's just the trailer making it look like it's One Tree Hill, but I don't want a gritty and realistic Superman. That's part of the reason why SR sucked.

Even if it wasn't, but especially because it is, and that's his style, I can't help but think of Watchmen and that is all wrong for Superman. Maybe he can prove it wrong and do something different, but that trailer doesn't show it.

It doesn't really look teen drama-ish to me, but it makes Superman more human.

Check out the issue Superman: Grounded by MJS and Roberson. It really reminds me of this trailer and is one of the best issues I've ever read out of any Superman books, and far better than anything we've had for a year or so.
